Van Helsing is sitting in his room, on the bed, in jeans, the button-down and a pair of socks. His hat, coat and vest are on the chair on the far side of the room and his boots are on the floor. Beowulf is sprawled across his lap. He idly pets the dog as he goes over yesterday's events. Beowulf doesn't mind, he just 'listens' and gets his ears scratched.

"What the hell happened yesterday? Natalie said she broke off her engagement with Nick and seemed convinced that everyone was going to hate her. I don't understand. Which isn't new - I frequently don't understand things. Especially here."

He doesn't feel as ridiculous talking to the dog as he thought he might, but he's also not sure how much help it will be.

"She was... well, more than a little intoxicated (not that I'm judging, I wasn't in the best shape then myself) and rambled on about being fat and ugly - which she is not. And I told her as much... which, actually may have been where this started going badly. I mean, I'm trying to help her and she kisses me? That threw me a bit... okay, a lot. A woman, Natalie called her Alanna - have I met her? I'm not sure, I can't remember some of the people I've met - anyway - pulled Natalie off me - thank you very much - and started moving Natalie away from the bar. Good plan. We got her settled in a table and gave her some water."

He smirks a bit down at the dog. "I had to find you," he rubs the dog's head, scruffing his hair, "so, I... left. Now I don't know what to do at all. And you... you big bum... you're no help." He gives the dog a light thump on the nose, but Beowulf just thumps his tail on the bed.

"Stupid dog."
